Former Miss USA Rima Fakih Arrest: Tweet Denying DUI Missing on Twitter Account

GaplekNews--Former Miss USA Rima Fakih was arrested on suspicion of DUI, and right after, a tweet appeared on her account saying that she was not the Fakih arrested. Now that tweet is missing.

On her Twitter account, Rima Fakih tweeted, "Let's clear things up now...I'm NOT in Michigan and I'm NOT in jail! Wrong Fakih." Oops. Somebody was wrong. Perhaps she has a social media manager who was not in the loop immediately following the arrest. Either that, or she may have been trying to cover up her DUI arrest and subsequent evening in jail. The tweet is no longer on the account, but it was taken down in print before her team erased it.

As for the Miss Universe Organization, it released a statement that said, "We were saddened to hear about the events that occurred with Rima Fakih this past weekend and are thankful that no one was hurt. While we do not have all of the facts regarding this incident, The Miss Universe Organization does not condone drinking and driving."

Thank goodness nobody was hurt. Driving under the influence is no laughing matter, and all too often innocent people pay when somebody gets behind the wheel drunk. This entire situation could have ended much more tragically for Rima Fakih and her passengers on Saturday night. If she has a problem, perhaps this close call will be the wakeup call she needs to clean up her act or even get help if things are that bad. It is sad to see that it has come to this for the former Miss USA. She has so much potential, and she does not need to waste it partying and drinking and driving. celebsgather
