GaplekNews--The next great racing adventure is headed to your game system instead of to the theater, but it might be easy to forget that since the trailer for Need for Speed: The Run was directed by Michael Bay and features Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks. Technology is blurring the line between movies and video games, and the brains behind Need for Speed: The Run are doing everything they can to bring the two entertainment mediums together. When it came time to put a promo trailer together, they sought out director Michael Bay and even managed to snag Christina Hendricks to voice her digital alter-ego that appears in the game.
According to Hendricks, Bay was the natural choice for groundbreaking move because of his eye for action and knack for creating adrenaline-pumping movies, and Bay apparently came through because the Mad Men beauty says the trailer for Need for Speed: The Run is “a real piece of art” that looks like the next big blockbuster instead of a video game.
It’s probably the perfect time to step up the advertising material because the latest installment in the Need for Speed franchise ventures into new territory with players traveling cross-country for the first time, in addition to being able to take the action out of the car.
