Katie Couric’s career is back in full throttle, but her love life isn’t so successful

The New York Daily News reported America’s sweetheart anchor split with boyfriend Brooks Perlin after five years of dating.

Perlin, who is 17 years younger than Couric, is currently moving out of the 54-year-old’s New York City Upper East Side townhouse.

Us Weekly reported the former couple began dating in 2006 when they met at a cancer research fundraising event held at the Louis Licari Hair Salon.

A friend of Couric’s told the magazine that the former CBS Evening News anchor wanted to split up.

“Brook’s a nice guy, but it was inevitable because they had different priorities and perspectives, and their age difference made it a challenge, too,” the source said.

“Katie is someone who is incredibly versatile and accessible and in high demand and he just couldn’t keep up. He had a little more trouble in the relationship. So she’s available and back on the market.”

Couric’s hasn’t been in a relationship worthy of marriage material since her husband, Jay Monahan, passed away from colon cancer in 1998.

She has two children with the late lawyer, 20-year-old Ellie, who is currently studying at Yale University, and 15-year-old Carrie.

And while Ellie prepares for her final year of college next September, momma Couric will be gearing up for her new talk show. sfluxe
